Sustainable Development Goal 6 if not SDG 6 is one goal that is established by United Nations General Assembly in 2015. This goal has the aim of ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. That’s why SDG 6 has selected as the goal of Pure Drop as it is targeting clean water and sanitation for everyone. Also, this is important all over the world because water is one of the essential basic needs for the survival of human.

Sri Lanka has settled with SDG 6 to provide solutions for the issues within Water and Sanitation the country. Commonly the issues of Water and Sanitation, which Sri Lanka and the world are having, can be identified as water scarcity, dwindling drinking water supplies, and the increase of droughts. Hence many people face the problem of not having safe and affordable drinking water.

As well they are having water stress too. Then there are no sufficient or safely managed basic and other sanitation services, even in many areas of Sri Lanka also. According to the behavior of people, there is a big loss of natural wetlands in the present world. Next people are not using proper actions with wastewater, therefore wastewater is mixing with waterways without adequate treatment.

Protecting and restoring water-related Eco-systems is the thing which every person should do to avoid these issues. Also, it requires investment inadequate facilities, to provide sanitation facilities and a foundation to integrate water resource management.

On the other hand, solutions for these problems can be found by ourselves before the situation may go worse by empowering people, creating new opportunities to keep sustainable, and providing technical and economic solutions. So the actions mostly should be taken by the younger generation. Therefore, Pure Drop is targeting them to give awareness and get new ideas from them by following the goal of SDG 6 because one step will create more paths for a new eco-friendly world.
